Privacy policy

What STRAFDOP collects, why it is used, who receives it and how to exercise your privacy rights.

Last updated: 24 October 2026

What this policy covers

This policy applies to the STRAFDOP website, game, store, newsletter and contact form. Details come from you, from the host who enters player names, from payment and delivery updates, and from technical requests made by your browser. Account verification needs a name and email; physical delivery also needs the recipient’s contact and address details. Without the required details, the corresponding service cannot be provided. Browsing does not require a game account.

Your account

Your name, verified email, purchase status and trial usage support sign-in, access and purchase recovery. Resend sends email sign-in codes and order messages. Codes expire after five minutes and are stored as hashes. A session cookie keeps you signed in; signing in on another device replaces the previous active session. Delivery telephone numbers are not used for SMS sign-in.

Your purchase

Paystack processes payments. STRAFDOP stores references, amounts, currency, payment status and the purchased items needed to reconcile orders and handle support. STRAFDOP does not receive or store your full payment-card number or security code. Paystack also processes information under its own privacy notice.

T-shirt orders and delivery

We keep the purchased cut, colour, size, quantity and price with your order reference. For delivery, we keep the recipient’s name, mobile number and address; the necessary delivery details are shared with Aramex to send your parcel. Your cart is saved in your browser and delivery drafts stay in the current browser session.

Your choices

You subscribe to STRAFDOP news and pack releases when you complete the newsletter form or verify your email to play. We store your name, email, preferred language and subscription time. You can unsubscribe any time through the link in a newsletter. Signing in again after unsubscribing will not subscribe you again.

Your messages

We store the details you submit through the contact form to handle your question. Use the contact page to request a copy or deletion of your information.

Game activity and content feedback

We record a game ID, the host account where signed in, group size, game mode and language, recent activity check-ins, and card or clue views and skips. This helps us monitor active games and improve the content. Player names and scores are not included in this activity tracking.

Your saved games

When signed in, your saved games are stored privately under your account in Neon, including player names, scores, cards, votes, settings and remaining time. A local recovery copy helps when your connection drops. You can resume on another device after signing in, or delete a saved game from Saved games. Deleting removes its saved names, scores and wording; activity tracking remains separate.

On your device

Cookies and browser storage support sign-in, language, sound, trial usage, the shopping cart, delivery drafts and game recovery. The session cookie can last up to one year unless replaced or cleared. You can clear cookies and site storage in your browser, but this may sign you out and remove device-only progress or drafts. Clearing your device does not delete account records or cloud saves.

Player names and sound

When name announcements are requested, a new name is sent to ElevenLabs to generate its pronunciation. The name, generated clip and request IP address are recorded for caching and abuse prevention; Bunny stores and delivers the clip. Pronunciations are reused rather than regenerated for every game, and media URLs are publicly accessible. Use first names or nicknames and make sure other players are comfortable with the names you enter. Game speech and performances are not recorded by STRAFDOP.

Service providers and international processing

Neon stores application records; Resend delivers emails; Paystack processes payments; Bunny delivers media; ElevenLabs generates name pronunciations; Aramex receives delivery details for physical orders. Hosting and these providers may process request information or data outside South Africa. POPIA’s cross-border conditions apply to these transfers. Information is also disclosed when legally required or needed to deal with fraud or a dispute. STRAFDOP does not sell your personal information.

How long information is kept

Account, purchase and support records are kept for the purposes described here, including access recovery, accounting, legal obligations and disputes. Contact us to request deletion or ask what must be retained. Saved games can be deleted from Saved games; a minimal deletion marker prevents older devices recreating a deleted save. Shared name pronunciations are kept in a separate reusable media cache. Backup or legally required records may remain after a deletion request; the response will explain any limits rather than promise immediate removal from every system.

Keeping information secure

Email verification, hashed sign-in codes and session tokens, secure production cookies, account checks on saved games and order access, and request limits help protect the service. Access to administrative functions is restricted. No internet service can promise absolute security. If a security compromise requires notification, affected people and the Information Regulator will be informed as required by law.

Your privacy rights

Under POPIA, you may ask whether information is held about you, request access or correction, request deletion where applicable, object to processing, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. A request may need reasonable identity checks. Some records must be retained by law. Contact us using the details below or the contact page.

Adults only

STRAFDOP is intended for people aged 18 and over. Do not create an account for a child or enter a child’s personal details into a game. Contact us if you believe a child’s information has been submitted.

Changes to this policy

The date above identifies the current version. This page will be updated when the service or its use of information changes. Where a change needs a separate notice or consent, publishing this page alone does not replace that requirement.

Privacy complaints

You may contact us about a concern or lodge a complaint with South Africa’s Information Regulator. Its complaints page provides the current submission process and contact details. Information Regulator: complaints and contact details
